Maryland Museums Association is assisting the former-Maryland Women's Heritage Center to create an accessible legacy website for their extensive collection of historical research about Maryland women, past and present, and their contributions in education, politics, science, community activism, the arts, the military, business and more. 

The goal of the project is to ensure that all of the original historical research, biographical profiles, and other resources created by the Maryland Women's Heritage Center live on beyond the closure of the organization. This legacy project is called the Maryland Women's Heritage Initiative (MWHI).

The existing website will be archived and stored in the permanent collection of The Flag House. Additionally, the website will be simplified and remain live and available for resources and reference materials. 

Funding for this project come from the MWHI fund held at the Howard County Community Foundation to Maryland Museums Association. MMA has hired 1909 Digital, a humanities-focused website company to complete the technical work.
